Think about identity, your own identity and study your face and its characteristics. Examine the forms of typographic elements closely to determine what will represent you best. Use the letters that spell your name to illustrate your face or head, thinking about how your design reflects you as a designer. Use only two typefaces. I wanted to use my first name only. Using the letters in different sizes in swatches to shade and light certain parts of my portrait. I wanted to use swatches instead of morphing letters to challenge myself. While using different gradient fills with my name to display the shadow and light areas.
